Helena Reid

Education & Experience

Helena graduated from Loughborough University in 2016 with a degree in History & English. Upon graduating, she embarked on a career in marketing, working as a Project Manager and Operations Manager in the fastest growing digital marketing agency in the UK. During this time, she became AgilePM qualified on both Foundation and Practitioner level. She then joined a large advertising events company as an Operations & Delivery Manager in 2020. Her interest then turned to law, and she has competed the Post-Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP Law School where she graduated with a Commendation.

Originally responsible for handling client enquiries, producing brand protection strategies and specifications, and filing UK and international trade mark applications, Helena then stepped into the Legal Administrator position before becoming the company's Legal Operations Manager. In this capacity, she is responsible for dealing with management and control over the entire administrative function of Trade Mark Wizards on a national and international level. However, she still enjoys getting involved with clients’ trade mark strategies when she has the time.

Trade Mark Achievements

After one month of being at the company, she was confident enough in her understanding of trademarking to step into the Legal Administrator position and then later the Legal Operations Manager position.

What Helena enjoys about the trade mark profession?

“I enjoy the commercial aspects of intellectual property law and the opportunity to engage with a wide range of businesses”.

What kind of trade mark work does Helena enjoy?

“I mostly enjoy dealing with international trade mark law. Each territory is subject to its own laws and regulations, where some are subject to change quite frequently. Whilst this can make the international trade mark application process quite complicated, it creates stimulating work and new exciting challenges.”

What bit of advice would Helena give to all businesses if she had the chance?

“You need to ensure your trade mark protection is as comprehensive as possible from the get-go. This can save litigation and legal fees further down the line.”

What do I like about Trade Mark Wizards?

“The people! Everybody is always so willing to help one another out and share new learnings with the team. There is a great combination of personalities within the company, which makes it a fun place to work”

Life outside of Trade Mark Wizards

Helena enjoys reading, running, baking, and socialising with friends.

As a child, what did Helena want to be when she grew up?

A journalist. Given the current political climate, she is pleased that this didn’t work out!
