What Lilija enjoys about the trade mark profession?
I’ve always been interested in brands and wanted a job that would involve some sort of brand management on a high level. This job allows me to be up at the top, since I am part of the client’s decision making team as to which brand names and designs to adopt.
What kind of trade mark work does Lilija enjoy?
“I’ve only been working in trade marks for a short while, and everything I’ve done so far has been enjoyable. I probably mostly enjoy advising on whether marks are inherently registrable. The test of descriptiveness and distinctiveness has a very delicate line which can require very technical thinking, and that’s what I like.”
What bit of advice would Lilija give to all businesses if she had the chance?
“I’ve only been her a short time and I can already see that protecting a trade mark at the earliest opportunity is vital. The amount of enquiries that come in asking what to do when trade marks have been stolen is shocking. I really feel for clients in that situation. My heart goes out to them, but at the end of the day, if you snooze, you lose. Trust me, you don’t want to lose your trade mark”.
What do I like about Trade Mark Wizards?
“Being a a new starter during a time where working from can be daunting, since you cannot meet your team in person. However, it’s been great because of the close and regular communication, and I feel like I know everyone so well already. Also, the talent here is amazing. I am surrounded my lots of clever people that really know their stuff”.
Life outside of Trade Mark Wizards
Outside of work, Lilija enjoys socialising with friends and family, going to the gym and exploring new restaurants and activities around London.
As a child, what did Lilija want to be when she grew up?
Lilija wanted to be a professional ballerina when she was younger, but quickly realised spending a lot she is more gifted academically and so pursued a legal career.
